Danielle Hazlett is a licensed Mental Health Counselor and Child Mental Health Specialist who has been working in the mental health field for over 8 years. She has a passion for providing therapy to children, adolescents and their caregivers, and is currently working toward being credentialed as a registered play therapist. Danielle also has experience in the substance abuse field and in providing counseling in the home, office and school settings.
Danielle believes in using a client-centered approach in working with families and focuses on client strengths and values, assisting them in gaining the motivation necessary for change.
Danielle uses a variety of intervention techniques which include play therapy, filial therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy and teaching parenting skills. She believes it is very important to involve caregivers in the therapy of children and adolescents as much as possible in order to help strengthen the family unit. Danielle also has experience in providing therapy to adolescents with substance abuse issues. She has provided therapy to children and adolescents with a variety of behavioral issues and who have had problems regarding attachment, anger, anxiety, depression, abuse, neglect and domestic violence. Danielle strongly believes in connecting her clients with as many community resources as possible so that they may have additional support in meeting their individual and familial needs.
